Approaching the end of the A30 the pace slows and you enter an area that seems to have changed little over the years. It was here that indelible images of pure white sand and blue tubes took me down the surf photographer's pathway. My first visit in '76 had been in a tent on the beach this time our accomodation was lush by comparison.Knee deep duvets, gilt bathrooms and bar run by the charismatic Benwith fresh seafood prepared to order.Our hosts were Teri and Darren of Whitesands Lodge (Tel: 01736 871776) on the edge of Sennen village and we couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay. Newly refurbished and open all year round. the Lodge offers a variety of different style accommodation to suit all pockets.If you're short on time and want to make the most of your weekend, you can fly into nearby airports at St. Just or Lands End. Whitesands Lodge have their own van available to transport you to surfing beaches or to other local beauty spots so you can enjoy a relaxing time with no restrictions on your surfing nor enjoying a drink or two! During summer months, the lodge organise barbeques on the bijou decking area at the back of the lodge with sizzling apres-surf food and an atmosphere for all to enjoy. The Lodge is a great place for all to stay including Surf Club and group trips away.
