Wave type The sand bar at the E.end has by far the best wave A series of fast peaks at mid to high tide .
Safety Factors

A large Rip extends round the point although the beach itself has few currents. Lifeguards (summer)

Tides and Swell Requires moderate to large sea conditions.The beach at Slade in the top right of pic catches more swell but the outcrops of rock make this a place favoured by the more experienced.
Wind A North wind is offshore but the sand dunes afford some shelter at high tide from north westerlies
Parking The car park at the East end of the beach can be accessed by the road signposted Horton at he top of the hill before entering the village.
Facilities Beach cafe / surf Shop .Camping see below.
Crowds Low (all year round)
Nearest Alternative Break This Beach is a good base to surf some of the best reef surfing in Wales. Although long walks are required ,beyond Overton are the shelf reefs and spits that catch the best of the swells in the summer especially.
Local Interest National Park Coastline. Other sports Windsurfing ,Kitesurfing, Climbing.
